Schiavetto Restauri Lignei has for decades now been restoring the wooden furnishings present in ecclesiastical settings. This type of restoration work is first and foremost conservative, as well as integrative and functional, and requires a preliminary investigation to determine the environmental conditions of the site (temperature and humidity) the furnishings are located in; these settings are often less than ideal, since churches and sacristies tend to be damp and poorly heated.
The restoration work involves intervention aimed at preserving, cleaning, disinfestation and polishing the surfaces, as well as integrating the missing parts to restore the object to its original appearance. The restoration project accepts that the work carried out must be reversible, recognisable and aimed at recovering and safeguarding the original characteristics of the work.
